Wide frame, photo on the sidewall of a tenement house with a gable roof and an attic; the wall is completely covered with sgraffito, i.e. embellishment in plaster; three-colour design (shades of brown) imitates ceramic cladding; some areas, quasi-diamond-shaped imitations of tiles decorated with drawings; on the left side of the wall, there is a large image of ships under full sail.

Technique: sgraffito

Dimensions: occupies the entire eastern façade

Object: The composition is three-coloured, covering the entire façade like wallpaper. Its left part features several ships under full sail in perspective, all set against the background of rectangular fields, intended to suggest ceramic decorations of various textures and colours. The remaining surface consists of interweaved diamonds, which serve as the background for silhouettes of ships, boats, fish and fantastic animals, and zodiac signs in the lower left part.

Place: The decoration is on the side façade of the tenement house at 47 Piwna Street, from the side of ks. Józef Zator-Przytocki square, opposite the main entrance to the Mariacki church. Alfons Łosowski’s “Marabou” sculpture is right next to the façade.
