Material/Technique: large-format painting and light installation

Dimensions: height: 9 m, width: 13 m

Object: A mural by Seikon was created on the south wall of the Forum Gdańsk shopping centre facing Armii Krajowej Street. The work, which is a combination of a mural and a neon sign that matches the façade of the building, harmonises with the lines of the façade and the colour palette of this part of the shopping centre. The large-format composition consists of overlapping geometric forms in black, white and shades of blue, and a highlight in the form of an orange line. In the centre of the composition is a neon sign in the form of the Forum Gdańsk logo, which lights up in blue. A parallel neon sign is located in the immediate vicinity of Seikon’s mural, on the glass wall above the building entrance. This is not the only work of art to be found in the Forum Gdańsk space. Seikon’s mural is distinguished by its street art nature.

Place: Forum Gdańsk was established on the site of Gdańsk’s historic trading places, namely Targ Sienny (the Hay Market) and Targ Rakowy (the Crayfish Market). Previously, since the 1990s, the Gildia commercial pavilions were located here. The entire future construction area was surveyed by archaeologists; the findings are displayed in showcases on the boulevard area by the Radunia Canal. The Forum Gdańsk retail complex, construction of which began in June 2015, follows in the footsteps of the merchant history of the site.
