Technique:metal sculpture
Dimensions: approx. 400 cm (height)
Object: The Rhythm sculpture is made of steel. It is an abstract object composed of rhythmically reproduced steel parts, bent at a sharp angle in the vertical axis. The steel is naturally rusted. According to the author, the form refers to divisions present in the architecture of Gdańsk. The artist was commissioned to make the piece by the developer, who aimed to combine the commercial function of Forum Gdańsk with contemporary art. The work was initially shown at the Baltic Philharmonic as part of the inauguration of the Forum Collective – a group of artists invited by the developer to create art objects. The artist placed the sculptural works from the Rhythm series in various locations around the world, including Vietnam.
Place: When Forum Gdańsk was under construction, Rhythm was displayed in front of the Baltic Philharmonic and then at Gdańsk Shakespeare Theatre. The sculpture can currently be admired in the Forum Gdańsk courtyard, next to a historic ash tree.
